Hamael is a serious woman who is dedicated to her job as a healer. Although generally cold, she is pragmatic and shows a great understanding of people’s feelings.
Born of an elf mother and human father, Hamael grew up in the forest among a small community of elves. She eventually was expecting a child with her partner, another half-Elf, but her child was taken by elders soon after birth to be sacrificed due to the Ceremony of Souls revealing he was the vessel of the End of the Sky, Destrekt.
Overcome with grief and rage at the loss of her child, Hamael fled the forest to live outside the settlement, in the snowy landscape of the Central Island.
She runs her own clinic at the very center of her region, and will heal anyone who needs it, regardless of affiliations. Her clinic is considered neutral grounds, and any fighting there is absolutely forbidden. Most of her employees and assistants are hybrid orphans who she took in in exchange for their labor.
Friendly
Hamael took Anyllah in when she was very young, and later had her work at the clinic as a nurse. Hamael considers her a very efficient worker and, although she doesn’t say it much, she is proud of how she’s grown. Anyllah respects her and is thankful to her for giving her a home.
A Meeting of Circumstances
Hamael found Eï at the edge of the forest, wounded and without memories, and took him in as a patient. Perhaps due to his fragile state, she is more gentle towards him than most of her patients. Likewise, because she personally attended to him when he was hurt and confused, he looks up to her as a sort of mother figure.
Unbeknownst to them both, their familial ties are closer than either would expect.
Professional
Hamael gave Nahki and his sister food and a home, essentially saving their lives. In order to repay her “kindness”, he decided to work for her when he grew a little older.
Friendly
Hamael gave Vas’kha and her brother food and a home, essentially saving their lives. In exchange, she asked for Vas’kha to work for her at the clinic. While Hamael appreciates Vas’kha’s willingness to go all out to help, she laments how many times she ends up becoming her patient because of her recklessness. Although their relationship started purely as a pseudo “business transaction”, Vas’kha grew to respect Hamael and her work ethic.
