Like many yokai, Momiji was once human, but died and was reborn as a fox spirit. However, she has no memory of her previous life. She doesn’t care much about remembering it, though, and prefers spending her days playing with her “siblings”, willfully ignorant of her past.

Momiji learned of Aki through Ao, and quickly took to the meek fox. She likes to tease him about his feelings towards Ao, and often tries to set them up, with little success. She regularly invites him to join their little family, but he always refuses, although he appreciates the intention.

Momiji likes to dote on her youngest sibling, treating him like a baby despite him being at least 100 years old. Ao sometimes gets annoyed by Momiji’s fussing, but he still appreciates her presence, though he wishes she would stop meddling when it comes to his love life.
