Keril is a calm spirit who simply wants to live in peace. He has quite the fatherly streak, unable to overlook children in need of help or guidance. Ayla’s situation makes him feel overwhelming guilt.
Keril is a spirit blessed with almost total omniscience, however, his powers have greatly weakened after he was sealed and his only way to survive was to possess the body of an abandoned child he found in the forest, Ayla, which also saved her own life. He shares her body and pretty much raised her and kept her alive by possessing her to ensure her survival, teaching her everything she needs to know from her own thoughts.
He didn’t realize his constant presence in her soul was eroding her mind until it was too late, and she had become fully dependent on his constant guidance to survive. Overwhelmed with guilt, he has decided to dedicate himself entirely to protecting and guiding her, despite now being powerful enough not to need a vessel anymore.

Regretful Family
Ayla sees Keril as a father figure, and can’t imagine not hearing his voice in her head. She depends on him for her survival. Keril sees Ayla as his own daughter. He feels guilty for breaking her mind, and so stays with her to protect her.
